i went in for dinner and the staff was great! they were very nice and gave some suggestions and recommended a wine, even the busboy was extremely curtious... and then the food came out! it was genuinely bad.
my steak was over cooked
my wifes pasta was cold and bland...
great service, beautiful place, crappy cooks i guess.
i wont be recommending it to any of my friends

Sorry bud but you are one of the best bullshitter ever, maybe because you work at another bar and just want to bring that place down and that will, by far, never happen… Foundation is one of the nicest bar downtown Ottawa for it's classiness with the most friendliest staff/manager/ owner, for credit card issues, trust me we all take you card for insurance that you do not leave without paying… theft is still ongoing and they make sure it doesn't happen… and if something is wrong with the food or drink they are very happy to compliment it on the house…
As for the night club, very Montreal style house and a mix up of house with remixed top 40… love to see music that I've never heard before rater then having the same top 40 from hot 899…
Hands up best club ever for a great time love the staff also… I know a couple of them and they are by far the funniest people to party with...

This place has great reviews so a bunch of friends and I decided to go there for a night out. It was like a lot of clubs in Downtown Toronto - elitist and expensive. This whole notion of "bottle service" just to get a chance to sit down is downright disgusting. Even after getting a table to eat before the place filled up, we were asked to vacate to make room for "bottle service" customers. After that, there were no "bottle service" customers who required our table and it ended up remaining vacant.
The service was terrible. A server took my credit card presumably to ensure that we didn't leave without footing the bill. I had not consented to using my card but she rang it in anyways. Needless to say, she was not tipped by my party. Foundation has very rude and unprofessional staff. My lawyer would like to pursue legal action against them but it's too much of a hassle for me.
From now on, I will stick to bars in Ottawa where you can actually have a conversation and not pay out of your nose to have a nice night out on the town and hang out with friends.

A lawyer wants to pursue legal action against a bar because you had a bad time? The bartender exercised the common practice of holding your credit card for a tab? (or other reasons) Then she used it to PAY YOUR TAB? Oh Nooessss!!

Went here Saturday night, had an AWESOME time. Service is excellent! and Mike Fisher was there!!! Initially I didn't like paying 8 dollars at the door but it was well worth it, so much better than any other club downtown.

Agreed. Way ahead of it's time! A true 'Supperclub'. During our dinner (which was amazing MMM Steak!) we were visited by a magican -really sick tricks, had happy birthday sung to us by their lounge singer Chris -also amazing and then stayed to party with bottle service! The music rocks and you can't beat the atmosphere. Definitely not like most of Ottawa's scene. We'll be going back every week!

I'm going to have to agree with the above review, this is by far the nicest nightclub in Ottawa. Amazing food, well trained staff and the overall layout of the place is just awesome. They do all kinds of different things to keep people interested, I'm just really impressed. I never expected a place like this would ever come to Ottawa. I was wrong.
